Later this year, Ford’s innovative BlueCruise hands-free driving technology will be available for 2021 Ford F-150 and Mustang Mach-E models outfitted with the available Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 Prep Package.

BlueCruise enables you to drive hands-free on over 100,000 miles of prequalified highway, referred to as Hands-Free Blue Zones. Your eye position is monitored by a camera to help ensure your eyes stay on the road.

In 2020, Ford sent 10 F-150 and Mustang Mach-E models on a grueling road trip that spanned over 110,000 miles, 37 states, and five Canadian provinces. It pitted BlueCruise against all imaginable weather, road, and traffic conditions, proving the capabilities of this new system.

Hau Thai-Tang, Chief Product Platform and Operations Officer for Ford, said: “There are highway intricacies and driving conditions that you simply cannot replicate in a lab,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product platform and operations officer. “Sending these vehicles out for real-world driving experience is just one of many ways we ensured that BlueCruise technology offers confidence and convenience for drivers across the continent.”

If you own an eligible model, over-the-air software updates will enable you to acquire BlueCruise from your garage, saving you time and energy. More Ford models will be compatible with BlueCruise down the road.
